Alexandra Moe
Alexandra (Alex) Moe was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and is a journalist and writer. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The Washington Post Magazine, Harvard Public Health Magazine (one of the top stories of 2024), Politico Magazine, The New Republic, Washington City Paper (cover; 2nd place in healthcare reporting, AAN), and the literary magazine, The Threepenny Review.
Her reporting and features have focused on health and culture. She’s covered the rise of Alzheimer’s in Indian Country; the health benefits of singing; how firefighters are unexpectedly becoming senior caregivers; nursing assistants performing heroics in Covid wards; why Gen Z is cooking up a storm; men’s grief; read-aloud groups in England, and how one 90 year old found the secret to joy living for 50 years in her perch above the city. For ten years, she worked at Pacific News Service, a non-profit news wire in California.
She’s a graduate of Williams College and Circle in the Square Theater School in New York.
